Meet our Medieval monk David and learn about ecclesiastical life in Scotland from the Iron Age to now. Hear how Ionian Christianity was brought to Scotland and about the Saints that were crucial to the conversion of the pagan peoples of the local area. Learn about the Church’s pivotal role in the Scots Wars of Independence and beyond.
Activities – Take part in a Gregorian chant and the interactive story of St Columba’s journey through Scotland as he rows up Loch Ness.
Props/Costume/Equip – Replica clothing including Monks robes, leather boots, rope belt, crucifix, beads and leather tome. Wooden stool. Animal skins. Canvas tent (location dependent).
