Brief info

Join Sir David and hear about life as a Scottish knight jousting in Scotland and on the European circuit. Hear about the Scottish Kings that would compete in disguise at various locations within Scotland and the evolution of the melee into the Joust we know today. Learn about the strict tournament rules and the lengths some Knights would go to bend them!

Weapon handling (where appropriate)
Learn how to make a jousting knight, lance, helmet or horse from everyday objects (at home)

Props/Costume/Equip – Replica clothing including cloak, surcoat, tunic, undertunic, braes, hose, leather boots. Sword, heater shield, axe, bows and selection of arrows, jousting coronels, Chain and Plate armour, shoulder targe, fasion. Wooden stool. Weapons rack. Animal skins.

Materials – Printed off info sheets about Jousting related ‘Have a go’ activities to be done at home
