Hear about a peasant woman’s life in the village and castle and how to create items to trade with to feed your extensive family.
Learn how to create these items; such as braided chord, using strips of wool and a Trollen wheel or how to tablet weave with a handheld loom.
Listen to tales told around the hearth to keep everyone’s spirits up through the harsh winters.
Activities – Learn how to create chord by making your own Trollen wheel. Learn how to make your own tablet weaving equipment and hand-held loom. Take photos of some examples to recreate.
Props/Costume/Equip – Replica clothing including wimples, overdress, underdress, wool moccasins, woven fabric belt. Trollen wheels, medieval snips, handheld loom. Pouch. Stool.
Materials – Wool, leather or cardboard pre-cut trollen wheels.
